I、Equipment Use
The metal halide as the main component of molten salt has a higher vapor pressure than most impurities under normal pressure or low pressure (vacuum), which can effectively achieve the separation and purification of the target molten salt and impurities. Vacuum distillation is a physical process, which has the technical characteristics of simple process principle, no by-products, easy process control, and easy continuous batch processing. It is widely used in the purification process of molten salt. The real vacuum distillation system is applicable to the purification, separation, recovery and other process exploration of uranium, zirconium, rare earth elements, fluoride, chloride, bromide and other molten salts of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals. It can also be scaled up and mass produced according to relevant processes.
II、Equipment Introduction
The depressurized electrochemical device adopts modular design. It is composed of heating (multi temperature zone) system, electrochemical (electrolysis) device, glove box, gassing circuit system, vacuum system, tail gassing treatment system, cooling system and control system. Each module is supported by an independent support, which can realize different combinations of modules and facilitate process adjustment, later installation and maintenance.
1. Heating system: the heating device is of open and close design, and is controlled by two temperature zones. The maximum operating temperature of each temperature zone is not less than 1000 ℃, which can control the electrolytic cell to be in a constant temperature zone. The double-layer shell structure and 50 stages temperature control are adopted, with phase-shift triggering and thyristor control. The furnace is made of 1200 imported alumina polycrystalline fiber materials, which has the advantages of balanced temperature field, low surface temperature, fast temperature rise and fall, and energy saving.
2. Electrochemical device: it is composed of electrochemical workstation or DC power supply, electrolytic kettle (shell), electrolytic cell, electrode and connector. It is the core component of electrochemical research or electrolytic production. The electrolyzer can be designed according to actual experiments or production needs, and can be disassembled independently and replaced easily. The electrolytic kettle is resistant to high-temperature molten salt steam corrosion, and its normal service life is not less than two years.
3. Glove box: most molten salt or electrolytic purified products are easy to absorb water. The glove box can provide an inert atmosphere protection environment, and is also the support structure of the whole device. It can increase the automatic transmission module according to the demand to improve the work efficiency.

4. Gassing system: it is composed of gas pipeline, flow meter, pressure sensor and various valves, which can provide inert atmosphere protection for the system. The pressure and flow range can be designed and adjusted according to needs.
5. Vacuum system: it is composed of mechanical pump, vacuum valve, vacuum pipeline and vacuum pressure gauge. The maximum limit vacuum can reach 10Pa. The vacuum measuring instrument is a compound digital display vacuum measuring instrument, which can realize continuous vacuum measurement in the whole process.
6. Gassing treatment system: the tail gas absorption can be designed in multi-stage series according to the process to absorb or treat the acid-base gas or other harmful gas in the discharged tail gas.
7. Cooling system: the cooling water (deionized water) pumped by the chiller enters the seals or equipment of each branch to be cooled through the main pipe, and then is collected to the water tank. The waterway is equipped with pressure gauge, valve and flowmeter, and the flow can be adjusted as required. It can realize the sound and light alarm of low water pressure, interlock with the control system for protection, and automatically cut off the power supply of the heater.
8. Control system: the control system adopts programmable logic controller (PLC) to realize automatic process control. There are two modes of operation, manual and automatic, which can be selected. The automatic mode can be manually set according to the user's process requirements and equipment requirements, and the interlocking protection design of relevant process parameters is carried out. It is convenient to operate without manual switching. Audible and visual alarms shall be given for abnormal conditions such as over-heating, water shortage, insufficient vacuum, insufficient or too high gas pressure, overload and open circuit of heater, and corresponding protection measures shall be implemented.
